Employee Focus: Heather Poston

July’s Employee Focus is on Heather Poston.  Heather joined the Van Mark team in 2015 for her role as Product Design Engineer.  She recently celebrated 3 years with Van Mark.  Heather obtained her B.S. in Product Design Engineering Technology from Ferris State University along with an A.A.S. in CAD drafting and Tool Design, also at Ferris State.  She brought with her a background in CAD design as well as experience in product analysis. 

Heather tells us that she really enjoys working with our close-knit Research & Development team, and the team is always working on a common goal.  When asked to describe Van Mark in a few words, she declared “Consistently Improving” as her answer.  Thanks to Heather and the entire Research & Development team, we agree!  One of Heather's biggest contributions since joining Van Mark is her ability to use computer generated designs to influence new product development along with scientific based testing methods to determine product performance in the digital environment as well as the physical.

Heather was raised in Charlevoix but relocated to the Detroit area in 2013.  She currently resides in Ferndale with her fiancé, Zack, their dog, Archer, and two cats, Bruno and Ian.  Heather loves the outdoors, gardening, and kayaking.  She also enjoys do-it-yourself home projects.  Whenever possible Heather likes traveling up north to spend time with her family.  Having become recently engaged, Heather is very excited to be planning for her wedding, scheduled for next year.
