Employee Focus: Christopher Looney
We have made it to the 2nd quarter of 2021, and the world seems to be finally starting the process of getting back to some normalcy! For this quarter, our Employee Focus is on Christopher Looney. Chris joined the Van Mark team in October of 2020. Since that time, he has had quite the list of challenges in his role as Production Supervisor but has been rather successful in dealing with them head on. Chris tells us that he really enjoys the people he works with at Van Mark and has great bosses! He appreciates that the management team values his knowledge and past work experiences. He feels they provide the support he needs to operate and help grow the business here at Van Mark. Chris hopes to continue to grow with the company and eventually advance within the management group.
Chris describes Van Mark Products as “resilient”. It has been a challenging year and we think
Chris’ description is pretty accurate!
Running a business during a pandemic is something none of us would have
ever thought we would have to do, but we did, and we did it well, thanks to our
great team! Chris also told us that he
is particularly proud of how our employees have shown their resilience and
ability to adapt when dealing with the many unexpected hurdles they’ve run
into.
Chris was born in Detroit but grew up in Chesterfield
Township with his parents and a younger brother. Chris enjoys music and plays guitar, drums,
and bass. He was also a vocalist in a
band he was a member of when he was younger.
In his free time, he enjoys wood working and being creative. Chris also told us he enjoys cooking and is
usually the one cooking dinner for his fiancé, Nicole, and her daughter,
Isabella. Chris currently resides in
Dearborn with his fiancé, her daughter, and 4 cats. Life is a little bit crazy right now at the
Looney household as they recently adopted a kitten over the winter holidays.
