Employee Focus: Gary Polehna

Our employee focus for August is on Gary Polehna.  Having started with Van Mark in 2002, Gary will be celebrating 16 years with the company in November.  Gary has worked for Van Mark back in the 90’s but left for a couple of years to work with his brother in the roofing industry.  After realizing that roofing was not the long-term career he wanted, he returned to Van Mark, and has been here ever since.  Over the years, Gary has gained experience working in almost every job position within our manufacturing department.  He’s assisted our Shipping & Receiving department when needed.

Gary told us he sees himself working for Van Mark for many years to come.  He said that he feels Van Mark builds a good, quality product, and feels fortunate to work with a group of good people. 

During his free time, Gary enjoys playing guitar.  He’s started playing about 10 years ago and considers it one of his favorite hobbies.  He has an interest in Heavy Metal music and attends concerts whenever he gets the opportunity.  Gary is close with his family and enjoys hanging out with family and friends when he’s not at work.  Gary was born and raised in Westland, Michigan.  He now resides in Livonia, sharing his home with his brother.
