Employee Focus: Mark Lewis
Our employee blog for the month of May is focused on Mark Lewis. Mark joined the team at Van Mark Products back in July of 1997 as a Production Associate. With over 20 years under his belt, Mark has seen many changes at Van Mark since his start. Although, one thing that has never changed is Van Mark’s dedication to a culture of success by producing quality tools, which can be handed down from one generation to the next.
Mark shared with us that his favorite thing about working at Van Mark is the people he works with. “I like that we can come together at special events, like company BBQ’s and picnics, and are able to get to know each other”. We asked Mark to describe Van Mark in a few words and his response was “family, integrity, and pride”. He also told us “Because I work on the end of the line, I have the responsibility to make sure a quality product is sent to the customer”. Mark is responsible for the final clean-up and boxing of products before they’re shipped to customers and takes great pride in his work.
Mark grew up in Detroit and currently resides in Farmington Hills. He joined the Navy in the mid-80’s and spent ten years active, and five years in the reserves. When not at work, Mark enjoys summer concerts, nature walks, outdoor events like festivals, and is very active with his church. Mark belongs to a group at church that, once a month, goes down to Detroit and hands out food and care packages to those in need. The group also offers encouragement and, when needed, an ear to listen.
Look forward to another employee focus next month and be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for announcements.
